2010, a mixed-media installation and performance undertaken in collaboration with the Simmons College community. On view at the Trustman Gallery from March 20 – April 18, 2010.
An opening reception will be held on Thursday, March 25, 5:00-7:00 p.m. followed by a closing reception on April 15, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. The exhibit and receptions are free and open to the public.
In this mixed-media installation undertaken in collaboration with the Simmons community, I am seeking answers to the question, "Have you ever made a decision with an unconditional yes?" Combining new knitted and crocheted works with text, objects, and artwork contributed by faculty, staff, students, and alumnae, the exhibition is both inclusive and provocative. Transforming the gallery’s center into a temporary “living room,”I will be hosting periodic knit-togethers during the course of the installation. A knitted trail pieced together from communal donations leads visitors to the “living room.”
