The Knitted Mile, 2009.

The Knitted Mile was a site-specific installation and performance in Dallas, TX.  Over 90 people contributed pieces of handknit, yellow 4” road stripe that was installed on a street in Dallas, TX, as part of the exhibition, Gestures of Resistance, curated by Shannon Stratton and Judith Leeman.

The handknit stripe was placed on the road for an hour before being collected back up and put on view in the gallery along with photographs of each of the contributor’s hands.
